Hani Hodaib is a doctor who has worked in Egypt and abroad, with long experience serving rural communities. He currently serves as the head of the National AIDS Program in Fayoum, and has worked with a number of U.N. and W.H.O. programs in Egypt. In addition, Hodaib is a founding member of the Egyptian Social Democratic Party, serving as secretary-general in the party’s Fayoum branch and as a member of their national political bureau from 2011-14. Hodaib is a member of the Egyptian Medical Syndicate and Doctors Without Rights. He also writes an opinion column for el-Badil newspaper, and is a cofounder of the Democratic Society, an independent news website.
