Candace Lukasik is a Ph.D. candidate in the Department of Anthropology at University of California, Berkeley. Her dissertation project explores the transnational circulation of political subjectivities and religious practices among Coptic Orthodox Christians between Egypt and the United States. Ms. Lukasik received her M.A. in 2013 from the Middle Eastern, South Asian, and African Studies Department of Columbia University, where her thesis examined the organization of Coptic political movements after the 2011 Egyptian revolution.
