In continuity with the trend of preventive repression re-launched with greater force in the aftermath of the presidential elections of 2018, the head of state Abdel Fattah al-Sisi marked a new point in his political agenda by winning a disputed constitutional referendum in April. A vote that has in fact marked the end of any revolutionary legacy and that at the same time risks opening a new season of authoritarian restoration. On the regional and international level, however, there are no particular changes in the register, except a renewed Egyptian intervention in the main regional dossiers (Libya and the Gaza Strip).
