Eugenio Dacrema

Eugenio Dacrema is an Associate Research Fellow for the MENA Centre at ISPI. Currently, he is a PhD student at the University of Trento.

He completed his bachelors at the University of Pavia and his master degree at the University of Bologna in International Sciences with a specialisation in development economics. He studied Arabic for one year at the University of Damascus, where he also worked for the Italian Institute for International Trade as analyst and translator. He spent periods as visiting researcher in several international institutions such as the American University of Beirut, the George Washington University, and the Ludwig Maximilian University of Munich.

He runs a personal blog for the national newspaper “Il Foglio” on Middle Eastern economies and collaborates with several media outlets such as Corriere della Sera, Eastwest, Linkiesta, Formiche. 

His research applies game-theory models to social processes, with a focus on social uprisings and political and religious radicalization.
